Ohisashiburi no Philippine Festival 2022

Japan has opened its borders to foreigners for the first time since the country locked down from the pandemic, and with that came the flocking of Filipino tourists in the capital city of Tokyo.

Compound the number of tourists with the already plentiful Filipino residents in Japan and you have a larger than life community that seeks to expand their varied yet authentic culture to the cultural melting pot that is Japan.

Assortment of Concessions

With this, the Philippine Festival Tokyo 2022 took place at Yoyogi Park last December 3 and 4 2022. An assortment of concessions lined up and the park was filled with Filipinos of all ages from all walks of life to enjoy this annual celebration of Pinoy hallmark cuisine and tradition. Stalls serve up home-style cooking favorites such as sisig and adobo.

Restaurants brandish expertise in cooking the Pinoy fiesta staple Lechon, or whole roasted pig with crispy skin and juicy meat. Filipinos were also able to enjoy entertainment by celebrity guests like Maine Mendoza, Wally and Allan K. Beauty pageants and singing contests were also held as another requisite for traditional Filipino fiesta.

But apart from food and beverages, stalls that catered to other needs such as money remittance centers were one of the highlights of the event. One such stall was put up by one of Japan’s leading remittance centers, Japan Remit Finance or more popularly known by its abbreviation JRF.

JRFUmart and JRF Remit undeniably have one of the best merchandises during the festival which captivated lots of Filipino customers and foreigners.

Filipinos have always possessed a heart for helping each other. This is shown through hospitality for guests, respect for fellowmen, and support especially for those that need it. Ever since its inception, JRF has stood by these principles coupled by quality service. Visitors of the Philippine Japanese Festival can attest to this as JRF’s stall was one of the most visited and most engaged during the festival. We can’t wait for this year’s installment of Philippine Festival, see you all again soon!
